Sciatica

Anyone Can Experience Sciatica.

However, you are at an increased risk if you are between the ages of 30 and 50.

What is Sciatica?

It is a painful condition caused by irritation or compression of the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is one of the body’s largest and longest. Roughly the size an adult’s thumb at points, the sciatic nerve is actually a bundle of 5 smaller nerves. This group of nerves starts near the pelvis and extends along the spine down through each leg. There, the cluster branches out to form the main nerves of the thigh, knee, calf, ankle, and foot.

Although this condition can occur as a result of a herniated disc or spinal degeneration it is most often due to joint restriction or misalignment of the vertebrae.
